I am doing sets of one handed swings and double handed swings, one legged dead lifts, Russian twists and get up sit ups every single morning.
I am sore. I am sore as hell, but I feel great. I'm going to keep this up for now, and since I just started a new job, I'm going to hold off on telling you what Lauren Brook's video is like (since I don't have it yet!)

Day One
Hi. My Name is Jaclyn, and you're going to be going on a journey with me.
I'm 5'2.
Today, the scale told me I weight 152 pounds. That's the heaviest I've ever been in my whole life.
Now a few things have recently taken their toll on me and admittedly, made me not be the healthiest I could be. I recently lost my job, school has been very stressful as I'll be applying to grad school soon, and I just went through a very nasty break-up; all things that are fodder for someone to hit the ben and jerry's.
Honestly, I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat that poorly most of the time, but I think what really has me at this state is my lack of motivation to MOVE. I recently went hiking with my little brother and I was huffing and puffing by the time I got up the easiest trail on the mountain. I hopped on the treadmill only to discover that I can't run for more than 15 minutes, at a moderate pace, and even then I can't run a mile in under that. Basically, I took one look at myself, a former swimmer, a former competitive cheerleader, and realized that I was out of shape. Severely out of shape. I don't feel strong, I don't feel like I used to, I feel washed up, used up, pretty much sloppy and lazy.
I did some research and decided to have a look at some strength building, total body work outs that would get me back into fighting shape. I needed something that would really kick my ass, something that would give me results and something I could stick with at home on my college-student's budget.
Enter the Kettle Bell.
I've been rummaging through Dragon Door's website, and through Lauren Brook's DVDs for a while and I wanted to start kettle bell training. EVERY review given by customers both has said that they don't know where they'd be without kettle bells and why they would ever think about trying anything else ever again. I don't know what struck me to want to try this, maybe the way the trainer's look, or the fact that I don't need a thousand different machines to get the same workout from the kettle bell's effective movements, but I went to target and bought a GoFit.com 10 pound kettle bell with the accompanying DVD to teach myself some of the moves, and when I start my new job, Lauren Brook's first DVD will be the one I buy, followed by Dragon Door's Andrea DuCane and the Kettle Bell Goddess DVDs. This blog will be used to track my progress, and give candid, honest information on exactly what the kettle bell can do. I'm very hopefull...
Wish me luck.
